My partner came to his senses and he asked me to come back. And of course, I said yes. I'm overjoyed to be able to share this news with you. After 3 months apart, our little family is back together again and I am Home.
I've got a bunch of new pieces available in the shop, and I'll be producing more to beef up the options. I've also got one commission that has been through hell and back, and is still unfinished. So I'll probably be starting that one over from scratch. I will build it bigger and better. So keep an eye out for updates on that, as well. I'm settling back in at home this week, and I expect to be working again by next week. I hope life has been kind to you all in these difficult past few years. Until next time.

I know, it's been awhile, hasn't it? I've been going through a metamorphosis of sorts, or I am the young phoenix rising out of the ashes, if you will. To put it succinctly, I gave my relationship my all and it blew up spectacularly in my face. I've been slowly removing the shrapnel from my skin and taking some time off to reflect. While I've been enjoying some much needed time to myself, I've been creating some pieces to share with you.
A friend of mine told me recently that in his culture, it is strongly discouraged to create art or even so much as hold an instrument (or brush) when feeling down or angry. He said it releases negative energy into the air. So I've been mindful of that, and I only paint when I'm feeling well. I hope these new pieces bring you some joy, as they were created with that intention. I have not caught the virus, thankfully... But I remain in quarantine. I'm not willing to take that risk. While I've been holed up at home, I've been working on these little pieces of tree bark that I picked up from a park last year. I layered coats of gesso while sanding in between just to get a smooth canvas-like base. From there, I painted a mini under-water scene of the ocean floor. I finished it with a layer of art resin, to make it look like it's actually wet. Size: 2x3 in. |
